Nancy Kieffer loves exploring nature and finds that the Central New York, Finger Lakes and Adirondack regions of New York are rich with beauty and wonder. Nancy attempts to emote what she sees and feels through her photography. She likes to depict the peace and tranquility she finds when getting outside in nature. These are the places where she goes to decompress from hard days/times and revitalize her spirit.
Recently Nancy has been experimenting with hand transferring her photographs to wood, canvas and clay. At times she adds touches of paint to serve in completing her vision for these original works.
Just as strong as her love of photography is her love for animals, both wild and domestic. As the photographer in the family, Nancy always found it frustrating that her family never could capture images of the bond she had with her dogs. Nancy learned creative solutions in capturing these moments for herself. She also likes to explore these relationships with other individuals and their animal companions. Nancy will spend time with the individual and pet in and around places they are accustomed to, to maintain a calm and familiar environment.
At this year’s Artisans sale, Nancy will be selling some of her landscape photography as well as animal and landscape cards and products.
She is an active member of the Syracuse Camera Club, as well as the Seneca Art’s Council. Her work has been featured in 55 Plus, as well as at Finger Lakes Art in Auburn, Artworks in Seneca Falls and on her own website.
